And the very next day, Saturday, December 8th, I am hosting my very first Open Studio Event! I hope you will enjoy seeing a working studio and a painting demo. Drop by anytime from 1-5:00 pm and see over 100 paintings with special pricing and catch the oil painting/collecting fever. I will be having some specials right after the show online also for those of you not able to come. Email me with any questions at [email protected]. Address for the Open Studio Event is 1021 Thornwell Court, Athens, Georgia. Lastly...more champagne! Toasts to everyone as I have so many blessings to celebrate! I am in love with this gorgeous champagne bottle and just looking for a reason to pop it open. This was the second time I painted it and I love the shadows behind it. I thank y'all for being a part of my journey and hopefully joining me for an exciting month of December. Champagne Shadows, 12 x 16, Oil on Linen

Monthly Spotlight:Shadow Boat Reflections, 11 x 14, Oil on Linen Here's why! Learning how to paint using Quang Ho's approach of Shadow and Light. Teacher Jim Richards is helping me learn to paint at that higher level holding onto the concept of what is in light or shadow throughout entire painting. It is so amazing and I love it. This was one of the first ones I did that way with all that gorgeous shadow of the boat done first. I love how this turned out and all the juicy thick paint on it! The sweet little present below is just perfect for the Holiday Season. Gallery wrapped with bigger sides that can just sit anywhere and make folks smile. The Glittering Christmas Present, 8 x 8, Oil on Linen, Gallery wrapped 1 1/2 sides.

Here's what's blooming...Five Roses Dancing in Julep Cup, 9 x 12 Oil on Linen These roses had all kinds of colors dancing all around them. It was such fun to paint and just a celebration of soft sweet color. I love the southern julep cup and have been painting pears with a frenzy lately. Love this one and it's just the perfect size to tuck anywhere. It's a party of soft neutral gorgeous color. Happy Happy!!

Window Sill Pears with Hydrangeas, 12 x 12, Oil on Linen I am addicted to painting gorgeous white flowers and seeing the warm and cool temperature shifts in them. It just fascinates me to no end. Love especially the soft light and shadow shapes in these snowball hydrangeas from my yard. Love pears for their simple elegance and that they always seem to have some character to them.
