Using paint to say something…tell a story and capture that beautiful moment.

FRESH OFF MY EASEL

Greetings!  I wanted to thank y'all for being part of such a fabulous finish to 2012!  I am so lucky and blessed to have amazing teachers like Jim Richards and Nancy Franke along with all the talented artists I get to paint with at art mentoring.  I ended up with a very successful month at the Small Works Show at the Anne Irwin Gallery and felt that I made them proud...A good feeling.  Also had such a great crowd out to my first Open Studio Event and appreciate all the friendship and support.  Planning on a Spring Open Studio Event so more on that soon!

I am trying to shorten my Newsletter.   Please know that I do write a Blog and typically have a paragraph or two on each painting there if you are interested.  I just get so excited to share everything with Y'all.

Loved the scene French Flower Shop above and just could not wait to tackle it.  I adore flowers so add in France and an awning and I was over the top.  Hope you like it too and so pretty in person.

Yet again...more champagne!  I keep painting it and hope when this painting sells I might get to pop that bottle open.  Loved painting the 3 flowers, 2 champagne flutes and One Tattingers Rose' Champagne!

Monthly Spotlight:

Cotton Pickin' Party,  24 x 30,  Oil on Linen

Here's why!   Have always been drawn to Cotton and Cotton Fields.   Loved setting up the gorgeous branches with all the buds in their different stages of beginning to open.  Had so much fun scraping and getting some fabulous edges in both of these.  Not sure the photos do them justice...I love these and hope you take a cotton' to them too:)

One Hundred Percent Cotton, 20 x 24, Oil on Linen, Gallery wrapped 1 1/2 sides.

Here's What's Blooming:

I love painting from life and beautiful flowers of all kinds are a favorite!  I am really having fun with more texture and just seeing what the paintings can hold.  Love drips and some unfinished edges...shows control and sophistication!
