Chasing Charleston Clouds, 36 x 36, Oil on Linen FRESH OFF MY EASELGreetings! I have been painting up my usual storm and counting my blessings. So humbled and fortunate to have gallery representation in two new amazing Galleries. I took some floral paintings up to Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga, TN and loved the gorgeous space in Warehouse Row. Very special indeed and just beautiful artwork hanging all over. I came away very thankful and inspired too! The paintings that are now at Gallery 1401 are featured just below in the Here's What's Blooming Section! Please read more about them there. I am also heading to Charleston with five new landscape paintings for The Atelier Gallery and am super excited to have my work there. Suhhhh-weeet! I loved painting some landscapes from beautiful scenes around the Charleston area and was very pleased with how these turned out. I used large abstract washes keeping some raw linen as my under painting and loved the beautiful color palette of Charleston. The gorgeous clouds there are just a blast to paint...you get to play in all that gorgeous white with subtle color and temperature shifts everywhere. I also love working with the edges and getting that puffy form to glow just right! It's the little things that really take a painting to that next level. I work extremely hard at being a fine artist and feel blessed to have these opportunities. When my art speaks to someone it's confirmation of what it's all about for me. I love this art journey and think the learning process is one of the things that I love the most. I also cherish the friendships and appreciate the teachers I've had along the way. I am especially thankful to my mentor, Jim Richards, for his continued guidance and critiques. Paint On!

Monthly Spotlight:Here's Why... Favorite thing to paint is white flowers and if you let me have a whole bunch of them and go really big- I am going to be smiling all day! This was pure joy and I think it shows in the painting. Everyone loves it and I am so tickled that so many folks are raving about this painting up at dk Gallery. Here's What's Blooming at Gallery 1401:These are the paintings that are now hanging up at Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga, TN! So very fun to paint some special still life's with Spode and Hydrangeas too! Love working with the blue and white pattern in light and shadow. Love all the texture and then the raw linen peeping out too! Hope if you are nearby you will stop in at Gallery 1401!
