12 x 16 Oil on Linen
I just love this painting and the dynamic of that big wave crashing up on the rocks just really grabs me. The thick fun paint right at that focal point also just makes me smile. I feel like I am splish splashing all over the place with so many wonderful things going on. I will be sharing them all coming up but just wanted to post this favorite with y’all while I get a few special things finished up! Hope this makes y’all smile too!!

Kathy, as someone who lives on a rocky coast, I can attest that this is really a difficult scene to master. You did an AWEOME job! Yes, the focal point with just the right amount of bright water is perfect. The rocks (oh, how rocks can make you crazy!) with their blu-ish side and their warmer side really read well. And then (I simply have to touch on all theses issues, as they are the snares of people painting rocky coasts!) the colors in the water as it recedes into the distance - yes, with different light it does change, but here you can see the different depths of the water indicated by the color. Magnifique!
