12 x 16 Oil on Linen
Heavy Moulding Gold Frame

$950.00

This is one of my favorite weeks of the year! I grew up in South Carolina and used to skip school and trek over to Augusta National and I loved it. We would hang out all week watching famous golfers on the most beautiful golf course and just had such a blast. I then later married a PGA Professional and it continues to be a very special place for us. My PGA Professional daughter is actually there today for a practice round. So much fun. So proud to be from such a Golfing Family- Golf has been very good to us.
I loved painting this oil painting of one of the most famous holes in Amen Corner- Lucky Number 13 also named Azalea. I also love azaleas- all that rich color against the gorgeous greens. I can just feel that special majesty of being at Augusta National when I look at this painting. There’s a kind of reverence to go there and be a Patron and walk amongst all that history of my favorite sport! There is no other place quite like it in the world. Tee It Up!
This painting is available through my studio- it’s in a gorgeous heavy gold frame and I am offering free shipping in the domestic US. Thanks Y’all!

Best feeling on the golf course is lining up to make that Birdie Putt! Always love to see those roll in and think that’s a huge part of what keeps us all coming back to golf…that feeling of hitting a great shot or draining that long putt. I have been so lucky that golf has been a huge part of our lives. Married to a PGA professional and I had the best job ever coaching collegiate golf at the University of Georgia for quite awhile. I loved making a difference on the course and off with so many of my players. Golf got quite contagious at our house and both daughters played Collegiate golf and the younger one became an amazing PGA Teaching Professional in her own right. Could not be prouder. Golf has been good to our family and I love that it is the game of a lifetime. This painting was all about the fun memories with so many amazing folks teeing it up. It’s about how I always feel at the golf course….joyous and happy and looking for birdies!

Favorite time of year and favorite golf tournament starts today- The Masters in Augusta! Grew up skipping school and going every year and just love everything about Augusta National Golf Club. Last year was my favorite visit ever when both my Husband and Daughter walked through the “PGA Members Only” gate together. It was quite special. This painting was so much fun to do. That’s my Scotty Cameron putter along with lots of momentos from our trips to The Masters. Hope our UGA Alumna play great this week- pulling for Bubba, Harris, Russell, and Chris! Go Dawgs- Tee It Up!

Excited to have been asked to participate with several other artists in an Art Show at the gorgeous Currahee Club…Can’t wait to drop paintings off today and head back for a big opening Friday night. If y’all are in the area please come by Friday night or anytime the next month. You can ask for Anne Shurley and tell them at the gate you are there to view the Art Show! I figured these three would be fitting for a golf club art show….Also have some landscapes and florals in all sizes! Y’all come see all the Art!

The following photos show the variety of special commissions I have had the pleasure to paint. I am always so honored when someone asks me to paint for them. I enjoy painting for folks for several reasons- the main ones being I usually get to know a new friend and help with some wonderful surprise gift for someone. That is my kind of fun! I also love getting to paint something I might not have otherwise painted. It’s challenging to paint new and different things and am always up to try something out of my comfort zone. It is so interesting to work on a new subject and research and learn about it. By the time I actually get to painting the commission I am totally comfortable with my subject matter. I really enjoy understanding what the collector wants the painting to “say” and being able to do that with paint.

Please scroll through the images and give some thought to something you might like to commission me to paint for you. I have painted for every holiday and even “just because”-sometimes the most special. I am getting booked up with the Holidays coming so let me know soon! If you receive this by email you are only going to see one image so please visit my website/blog at kathycousart.com to see them all. Look forward to hearing from you if you would like an Original Oil Painting just for you. My commissions are 100% satisfaction guaranteed:) Contact email is [email protected].

The University of Georgia Golf Course is one of the best courses around and is hosting the Stadion Classic, a PGA Tour, event this week. The golf course is in great shape and it’s one of the favorite events on the tour. My husband Dave is the PGA Professional/Director of Golf and also the Tournament Director. Proud of him and all the staff for putting on such a top notch event. This is one of the favorite signature holes on the back Nine. Very long Par 5 and you either have to trust and go for it across this huge lake or make a wise decision and lay up if you don’t feel you can get there. As I type this it makes me think that is kind of like a lot of decisions in life!

Love painting golf courses and seeing that architectural design blend in with Nature’s beauty! Y’all come on out to the Stadion Classic- We’d love to have you come walk the course and see the amazingly strong field play golf! Go Dawgs!!

It has been a blessed and beautifully busy month for me with shows at dk gallery and also Shain Gallery, the workshop with Sherrie McGraw and now we are onto our two golf tournaments out at the UGA Golf Course. Dave is not only PGA Professional/Director of Golf but serves at Tournament Director for the best Web.com event on the PGATour. The Stadion Classic is this week and the public is welcome to come out and see a strong field of golfers such as John Daly, Lee Westwood, and about 15 of our Georgia guys! Georgia and the UGA GC then host NCAA’s for women in about 2 weeks- More info on all that here. Everybody Tee It Up!!

Week of The Masters so only fitting to have another of my favorite golf paintings! Had a blast at The Masters on Monday and just nothing better than being out on a golf course in the early morning! The weather was gorgeous and the azaleas were popping. Being with my two favorite golf professionals was just the most fun of all. Got lots of photos and new props to have fun painting very soon. In the mean time, this favorite course down at Sea Island will do just fine! Love the marsh winding through the course and those gorgeous greens just invite you to Tee It Up!

Fore!! Tee Time at The Masters for us this week. We are heading out to go see some favorite golf friends on the PGA Tour and also walk the gorgeous Augusta National Golf Course! We are truly a golfing family and this is a favorite golf tournament for us. I used to coach golf at Georgia and then ran the Georgia Junior Golf Foundation- even implemented and designed that wonderful Golf license tag available in Georgia. My husband is a long time PGA Professional at UGA and both our daughters played college golf! So proud that our youngest daughter is also now a PGA Professional at Cherokee!

This painting was some favorite treasures from trips to The Masters over the years. I loved setting it up in light and shadow and just having fun with the golf composition. I am hoping to get lots of amazing photos tomorrow to paint from! Looking forward to a fun day with my two favorite PGA Professionals!! Tee It Up Y’all!
