This painting was a really special experience for me and I loved doing it and learned a ton about commissions and about myself. The commission was for someone’s birthday present and I was honored to be asked. I met with the collector and talked all about what she wanted and what her vision was and I felt like I had a really good understanding of that. I think that is so important to have that connection. I worked so hard to get this just right and worried that I had captured what she wanted. I knew the moment she saw the painting and started crying that I had done good. She loves it and felt I captured each child and the connection between the three just perfectly. Mission accomplished and Happy Birthday Kathy:)
I had lots of help and encouragement on this. What a wonderful art world I live in from Laurel who let me use her background photo- to Jim for guiding me through and giving me major thumbs up to Leslie, Kelley and all my art friends. I treasure you all on My Journey.
