As promised…the big General Golf Course painting from the previous post study. I like working that way. Doing a small study helps get any issues worked out and you can just cruise right around the painting or in this case the golf course! The General is a beautiful golf course with striking mountain views and rich beautiful colors that just called to me. Everywhere you turn, the gorgeous saturated colors amaze me and they all work together to dazzle you. As always, I marvel at the way the architect designed the course to blend into the natural surroundings. Just a special place to go visit and play golf up at Barnsley Gardens- they do it right.

Kathy, this is absolutely fabulous. You captured EVERYTHING-the reflection of the trees in the lake, the pink, blue, and white of the sky, and the rusty shade on the right that leads you into the painting. You even made the sand trap look inviting with the different shades of gray. Great job!!!

And “The General” is beautiful! The colors in the sky and the refections in the water…the depth of field you achieved…just beautiful. I feel like I could walk right in…
Love it!

Love ‘The General’! Serene, and the color harmony is divine! You’re going to be swamped with golf course commissions, I predict!

Love the design here with the visual path leading right up through the composition. I like the small to large working method too- it can really be effective on certain kinds paintings.
