This is a beautiful hillside port in Positano, Italy (below Naples) that I just loved. Have a sweet friend,Barbara,that has gifted me with the use of many of her photos from living in Italy for 20 years and I so appreciate that. Barbara is taking a quick visit back to France and I love to go with her at some point as she would make an amazing tour guide!

I loved painting this with all the light hitting the buildings on the hillside and had fun with the huge dome and of course the little church with the cross. This was great for me to just focus on shapes, shapes and more shapes with correct perspective in light and shadow. I was thinking of naming it ‘Church and State’ but thought that might be too political?…This is just about a sweet painting with light and shadow and hope the title and painting are universally appealing.
