Life is just full of those very special moments and I have had my fair share of truly sweet ones lately. I love when I get to paint flowers from my own yard and these are some of my own beautiful white hydrangeas. I could not wait to get this set up in my window sill and get painting on it. I wanted a loose, impressionistic, almost abstract, feel to it and loved how the implied window sill behind turned out. I just kept seeing all the big shapes and focused on those in all that gorgeous sunlight. Was very fun to paint and has lots of rich texture to it.
I have been so blessed lately with opportunities at some very fine art galleries such as Anne Irwin, dk Gallery and the latest, Shain Gallery- all fabulous. I was so tickled when right here at home, the Sunshine Gallery called. They asked me for some large paintings for a new historic home in conjunction with Ashford Manor, the famous B&B in downtown Watkinsville. Ashford on Main is a gorgeous old home and a perfect showcase for art. So very cool that in my little small town the gallery and the B&B are working together to promote beautiful art and happy to be a part of that.
If you are in the area, please stop by and see all three locations, right in downtown Watkinsville- will be a historic treat for your eyes!
