With all the winter snow and crazy weather settling down it’s a perfect time to get out and do some Gallery shopping and hopping. These are some of my favorite paintings hanging up at Gallery 1401 in Chattanooga and I just love it there. Amazing renovated warehouse space just full of all kinds of great shops. The gallery is gorgeous and full of so many beautiful paintings and I am honored to have these paintings there with them. A friend taught me paint what you love and love what you paint. I agree and have to paint things that I connect with or that mean something to me. For most of us southern girls, Spode is a right of passing…my Mom gave me that huge Spode platter in the top painting when I got married. I love the mason jar with my favorite hydrangeas posed in front of the Spode. This is probably one of my all time favorite paintings for so many reasons. The middle painting was painted on a Sunday and I just loved that they were hydrangeas from my yard and the eucalyptus was too! Felt very farm to table! The last one is a wonderful Spode vase filled with more grand hydrangeas. I adore and love those oranges and the reflections of them. I have learned so much from my mentor and painting reflections is a huge favorite thing to paint. Again…paint what you love and love what you paint…I think it comes across.
