After The Rain
36 x 36 Acrylic with Oil
I started this painting as it was softly raining outside my studio windows. It was a wonderful sound to paint to and begin the layering process that I use when painting these abstracts. One of my favorite things after a good rain are the beautiful colors that appear warmed up by the sun when everything is all fresh and clean. I had ever so much fun picking those colors out and bringing them into this painting. I love this color palette and it takes me right into a fresh spring day. Hope it does you too!

Kathy, I am loving your abstracts. The colors in After the Rain are gorgeous and the movement reminds me of that quotation by Harold Davis “The dance of spring is the dance of life.” Kudos to you!
