Flowers have the most beautiful colors in them and inspire me every single day. They make me pause for a moment during the day and just appreciate them…wonder if y’all do that too? When I go to the flower market I just stand there in awe at the rich color palette just waiting for me to pick them up to gift to our moms and also for me to paint from. I love to set up still lifes and figure out what plays off something else whether it’s color or shape or just a harmony of some unspoken kind that makes for an interesting composition. I adore all the rich oil and wax neutrals that let those rich saturated colors pop. Those are Meyer Lemons and have the most amazing yellow that complimented my turquoise market basket. I really enjoyed painting this and found not only the colors were so pleasing to my eyes but the set up smelled divine too. I love painting from life!
